Toyota's theory goes something like this: if you are consciously driving in order to avoid spilling your imaginary glass of water (an iPhone app makes a perfect substitute) then you are most likely driving in a safer, more efficient way (i.e. fewer sharp stops, less sudden veering etc). While it seems like a common-sense way to be eco-friendly it nonetheless raises the question: is this the best that the world's largest and arguably most innovative car manufacturer could come up with?
