Comment of the Day: Loophole Fatigue

The news that General Electric paid zero dollars in taxes last year was met with outrage. Commenter Cassandra777 was no exception, but her anger was directed at the corporate tax code itself, not the behemoth that took advantage of it.

It shows the perverse incentives of the loophole riddled cronyism that is the US tax code. How pathetic that it would make more business sense for GE to invest in tax lawyers, lobbyists and Charlie Rangel's pet projects than in its actual businsses.
