Welcome to The Atlantic Wire 2.0: in addition to a new, more visual look, the site is unveiling a new tagline -- What Matters Now -- that better fits our evolving mission. We will continue to closely monitor the columnists and commentators leading the national dialogue. But we are adding news and information to the mix, all the while retaining The Atlantic's signature voice. The Atlantic Wire is for the busy and the curious, for those who, faced with the clutter of niche sites and large-scale aggregators, want a place where they can catch up with the news, opinion and culture in just a few minutes.

Our team tracks news and opinions across the entire media spectrum: newspapers, web sites, television, radio and magazines. But we do more than just collect information. By synthesizing, analyzing and summarizing what’s out there and adding new information when we can, we are a news engine that gives you a quick and valuable account of the issues of the day.

The new look also brings a new feature: The Open Wire. It is part tip line, part open forum. Even as we are expanding, we know that there is only so much that the editors can get to each day. That's where you come in: let us know if there's something we've missed, a story you want to tell, or an opinion you have to share.

There are a few new ways to read the Wire:

• Home page: This is our front door, where we show off our top stories as well as the breadth of content and topics The Atlantic Wire covers every day. It also features our Latest Stories box so that you can see straight away the freshest stories on the site.

• Channel pages: To help you find exactly what you are looking for, we also have several new pages that break up our coverage into our major coverage areas: Politics, Business, Entertainment, Technology, National, and Global.

• Topic pages: If you want to drill down even further, we have all of our coverage broken down into categories from the 2012 Elections to the Tea Party to WikiLeaks.

• All stories: And for those who want a more complete look at what we publish, we list every story we publish in the same easy-to-scan format of our channel pages.
