Add Google to the List of Potential Hulu Suitors

Google is in "preliminary talks" to buy online video juggernaut Hulu, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The Wall Street Journal first reported last week that Hulu's board of directors was weighing whether to accept an unsolicited offer (reportedly from Yahoo) to buy the company. Since then, according to the Times, Hulu's team of financial advisers has arranged meetings with Yahoo, Google and Microsoft to "drum up" interest in a deal.

The report notes that Google is currently making "a major push to add professionally produced content to its mix of user-created videos on YouTube." Nothing pending and there's a chance owners Disney, News Corp., and NBC Universal could hold on to the company. But they certainly sound more motivated to sell than they did last week.
