The Daily Beast Finally Retires Newsweek.com

Ever since the merger between Newsweek and The Daily Beast last year, the web sites of both have kept operating as standalone brands. As long-rumored, that will no longer be the case starting on July 19th: Newsweek.com (which currently contains articles from the print edition) will cease to exist as its own standalone URL. Daily Intel's Chris Rovzar, who reported the news, explains:

Instead that URL will redirect users to a channel on the Daily Beast site, like its current "politics," "entertainment," and "fashion" verticals. The Newsweek channel will still have all the archived magazine content from before (unlike Time, Newsweek puts all of its print content online), and it will be edited and updated once a day to rotate features.

The NewsBeast homepage already displays a Newsweek bar which just links away to the news-weekly's website. It seems like the channel content that Rovzar is describing could fit there.
