Live Feed: Obama's Statement on the Economy

President Barack Obama has something to say about last week's first-ever downgrade of U.S. sovereign debt and this morning's stock market tumble that followed. He's addressing the press with a statement from the White House at 1 p.m. to talk about the troubled state of the nation's economy. It's been a morning of economic gloom, with markets down worldwide, and fears mounting that a second recession could be worse than the first. Some members of the president's staff criticized ratings agency S&P over the weekend, but so far, Obama himself has kept his comments private. He's also expected to talk about the helicopter crash over the weekend that killed 38 U.S. special forces in Afghanistan. Check out the live feed below.
