Following the announcement that Xbox has a new way to watch television on your TV, magazine publisher Condé Nast and printer-maker Hewlett-Packard have announced a new service to let you get printed copies of magazines that you can already get delivered to your mailbox. The new pay-per-print magazines allows people to choose issues of Allure, Details, Epicurious, Glamour, Golf Digest, Self, or Wired and schedule them to be printed on an HP Internet-enabled printer. As CNET elaborates there's "no word yet on how much less that will cost to produce (combined with ink and paper, of course) than just subscribing to the glossy or going to the store and picking up a copy." On one hand, this might be a good way for magazines to reach readers if the U.S. Post Office goes bust. That, of course, still leaves open the question of who's going to deliver all that paper and toner to your house.
