In the wake of Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter Anthony Shadid's death Thursday, his book, House of Stone: A Memoir of Home, Family and a Lost Middle East, will be released a month early than previously planned. The move is much like how last fall, Walter Isaacson's biography of Steven Jobs was released ahead of schedule after the Apple founder died to meet a sudden spike in interest. House of Stone broke the top 200 on Amazon's best sellers list by midday Friday, and as of 1:30p.m. it was No. 77.

Shadid's book has already earned positive early reviews, like this one from Kirkus that called it "A complicated, elegiac, beautiful attempt to reconcile the physical bayt (home) and the spiritual."
