TechCrunch confirmed reports Monday that Pinterest co-founder Paul Sciarra is leaving the social networking site, as his partner, Ben Silbermann, long the more public of the two, takes over as CEO.

This would all be standard corporate reshuffling, but it comes amid  Pinterest's explosive growth, which seems like an inopportune moment to leave the company you helped found. As StartUp Grind's Derek Anderson wrote, it's "Just a bit unusual to see it happen as the site really takes off and after 3-4 years of plugging along." We can't imagine Pinterest users will see much of a hiccup -- Sciarra had already taken six weeks away before the announcement -- but hey, perhaps all these internal machinations have the makings of a future Aaron Sorkin blockbuster in them.
