Hands down, Bill O'Reilly is one of the culture war's most pugnacious combatants. Either he's railing against liberals in Hollywood, denouncing gays "co-mingling" with children, or writing best-selling books aptly titled Culture Warrior. Suffice it to say, he's no fan of "garbage" on TV.
But in a surprise moment last night, he lauded Adam Lambert--the American Idol contestant who "sullied" the American Music Awards when he "kissed another man on the mouth, thrust a male dancer's head into his crotch and led two dancers on leashes."
What brought the two together? They both hate people talking on cell phones during rock concerts:
O'REILLY: One of the worst things about doing a live performance in America these days are pinheads using cell phones. Singer Adam Lambert was recently confronted with that.
ADAM LAMBERT, SINGER: OK, wait, sorry, can you get off your phone? You're yelling into it. Sorry, I'm going to start over. Sorry, guys. Really? "Domino's, we deliver." You're not watching TV honey.
O'REILLY: Now, Mr. Lambert's response was appropriate and the cell phone user was a pinhead.
