Strange Bedfellows

Larry King Tames Lady Gaga

John Hudson Jun 2, 2010
As a general rule, Lady Gaga gives excruciating interviews. She's cagey and obtuse. She introduces vague, lofty notions: "I’ve always been famous, it is just that nobody knew." And she routinely affects her voice—transforming it into what New York Magazine's Vanessa Grigoriadis calls "a very odd accent—some combination of Madonna as Madge and a robot."

So when critics caught wind that Gaga was sitting down with CNN's decidedley un-hip Larry King—many predicted a train wreck. They were wrong.
