Bullish right-wing host Rush Limbaugh is big enough to deserve a razzing by hired plane
, big enough to be number two
on the Atlantic 50, and big enough to admit he loves scented candles
. He's also big enough, evidently, to look down his nose at fellow conservative commentator Bill O'Reilly.
According to passages from a Limbaugh biography excerpted by The Hill
, Limbaugh compared O'Reilly to the vain, emptyheaded character Ted Baxter from The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
O'Reilly and Limbaugh have tangled a fair amount of late. As O'Reilly has increasingly styled himself a voice of moderation
at Fox News, Limbaugh has accused him of "giv[ing] socialism a fair shake."
In the book, Limbaugh is also reported to have a low opinion of
other conservative talking heads. Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity
are all deemed, according to the biography's author Zev Chafets, not
really "in his league."
