Limbaugh Sneers at O'Reilly, Levin, Beck

Benjamin F. Carlson 26 Views Jun 12, 2010
Bullish right-wing host Rush Limbaugh is big enough to deserve a razzing by hired plane, big enough to be number two on the Atlantic 50, and big enough to admit he loves scented candles. He's also big enough, evidently, to look down his nose at fellow conservative commentator Bill O'Reilly.

According to passages from a Limbaugh biography excerpted by The Hill, Limbaugh compared O'Reilly to the vain, emptyheaded character Ted Baxter from The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

O'Reilly and Limbaugh have tangled a fair amount of late. As O'Reilly has increasingly styled himself a voice of moderation at Fox News, Limbaugh has accused him of "giv[ing] socialism a fair shake."

In the book, Limbaugh is also reported to have a low opinion of other conservative talking heads. Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity are all deemed, according to the biography's author Zev Chafets, not really "in his league."
