Strange Bedfellows

Obama Appears In Madden 2011

Erik Hayden Jul 26, 2010
It's always a letdown to beat the last level of a video game and find that the final scene doesn't adequately match the unspeakable thrill of completion. The wizards at EA sports understand this feeling all too well and, according to Nate Ahearn at IGN, have decided to spruce up the Super Bowl celebrations for each football team in the forthcoming Madden 2011.

Now grateful gamers will be able to see confetti falling, coolers of Gatorade dumped on top of head coaches, players gleefully running up and down the sidelines and a special presentation by commissioner Roger Goodell. And, surprise, President Obama also makes an appearance to congratulate the championship team. (The president joins The Great Gatsby and the spirit of Wes Anderson as surprising videogame subjects.)

At the very least, the promises of virtual victory will surely be a silver lining for Rams and Lions fans.
