Morning Vid: O'Reilly Tries to Defend Beck, Ends Up Arguing With Him

Ray Gustini Aug 31, 2010

There are some ideological gaps between Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck, a fact that always lends their joint appearances a strange kind of tension. When O'Reilly comes to Beck's defense, it can seem less like a genuine consensus and more about the need to project a unified front.

This dynamic was on display last night, when Beck made an appearance on The O'Reilly Factor to talk about Saturday's "Restoring Honor" rally on the National Mall. Somehow, they ended up arguing about the importance of the "Judeo-Christian ethic," despite the fact they both support it. O'Reilly finally just gives up and makes a joke about Albert Pujols hitting Beck with a baseball bat.
