Whoopi Goldberg: I Never Punched Salahi

John Hudson Aug 5, 2010
White House gatecrasher Michaele Salahi caused quite the stir on ABC's The View on Wednesday. Unfortunately for viewers, most of the action happened off camera. According to the New York Daily News, Michaele and View co-host Whoopi Goldberg engaged in an "obscenity-laced backstage battle" after Salahi alleged that Goldberg physically assaulted her on camera.

Salahi says that during the taping, Goldberg struck her. That accusation triggered a backstage verbal fight between Goldberg, Salahi and Tareq Salahi (Michaele's husband) in which "F-bombs flew." Today on The View, Goldberg defended herself by airing an alternative camera angle showing she never hit Salahi.
