Given that Stephen Colbert dedicates over two minutes to an
enthusiastic impression of Dr. Strangelove, it's fair to assume he's been looking forward to
riffing on this 1964 Kubrick classic for some time. The clip
neatly ties together the Cordoba House
controversy and Terry Jones's
Koran-burning non-episode ("Destroying a religious symbol and building a
religious center are really the same thing--if you don't think about it"), turning black-and-white as Colbert revs up his Peter Sellers shtick.
Surprisingly, he nails the comedy great's voice to deliver an empathetic
"Mein Führer, I can walk!" punchline.
