Harry Reid Concurs With Lady Gaga on Twitter

Erik Hayden Sep 14, 2010
Lady Gaga, who recently broke the record for most Twitter followers, occasionally uses the medium to articulate her political persuasions. On Tuesday, two days after her endlessly-debated "Meat Dress" appearance at the VMAs, she urged her followers to pressure the Senate to repeal "Don't Ask Don't Tell," the policy that bans openly gay citizens from serving in the military. Her message? Please flood Harry Reid with calls:

http://twitpic.com/2ocx9i - Gay Veterans were my VMA dates. Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell. CALL HARRY REID to Schedule Senate Voteless than a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

Reid, or at least his resident staff tweeter, appears to have gotten the message and given a thumbs-up to the gaudy pop-star's efforts:

.@ladygaga There is a vote on #DADT next week. Anyone qualified to serve this country should be allowed to do so http://bit.ly/9ucdIj #nvsenless than a minute ago via HootSuite

Now, if only Camille Paglia and Gaga could bury the hatchet on Twitter.
