Strange Bedfellows

Cee-Lo Green Co-opts Fox News

John Hudson 191 Views Nov 10, 2010

As soon as Cee-Lo Green's hit single "F*** You!" dropped on the Internet it became a viral sensation, generating two million plays on YouTube in the first week alone. Tuesday night, viewers of the Colbert Report were treated to a special rendition of the song rewritten by Colbert.

The Comedy Central host reminded Green this was a "family show" so he'd have to change the lyrics. Instead of "F*** You!" how bout "Fox News"? After a little encouragement from the audience, the neo-soul singer was game and what happened next was magic:

Saw you driving ’round town with the girl I love on Fox News / Didn’t see one politician that wasn’t corrupt on the Fox News, and I get the blues / The poor get poorer, the rich get richer / Ain’t that some s— / I’m having pains in my chest because I’m so stressed over Fox News.
