Look Who Spoiled Boehner's Big Day

Erik Hayden 30 Views Nov 2, 2010
John Boehner won't lose too much sleep over this. He's preoccupied with how he'll run the government the next two years. But--perhaps venting for a million or so other disconcerted liberals--Rosanne Cash won't let him just enjoy his big day. Following in the footsteps of Rush, Mellencamp and Jackson Brown, Johnny Cash's daughter becomes the latest Democratic-leaning musician to tell a prominent Republican to quit mentioning them. Unlike the rest, Rosanne did so in a succinct tweet. And called the soon-to-be House Speaker an "asshat" while she was at it.

Boehner's offending, oft-told stump joke? Here it goes: "Remember when Ronald Reagan was president, We had Bob Hope. We had Johnny Cash. Think about where we are today. We have got President Obama. But we have no hope and we have no cash."

Campy fun and pretty harmless considering what we've already seen this campaign season. But, apparently not to Rosanne:
