Quote of the Day: Explain Cooking Shows to Me

Heather Horn 88 Views Nov 25, 2010
"I'm stunned to turn the television on and you see what I think of as people doing chores. You know what I mean? Cooking is something that I hate. I mean I hate doing any like domestic work which includes, in my opinion, cooking. To me it’s like watching someone sweep. Yes maybe you have to make a sandwich but who wants to watch you do that? But apparently the entire country is riveted by these cooking shows. No. And there’s a lot of things like that, right? People looking for houses, there’s a million of these shows."

--Writer and humorist Fran Lebovitz in an interview with New York Magazine, responding to a question about Top Chef
