When Snooki Polizzi came out against a ten percent tax increase on tanning salons last summer, it seemed fair to wonder if the Jersey Shore star was entering a new, more political phase of her career, like Cassius Clay changing his name to Muhammad Ali after knocking out Sonny Liston, or Bruce Springsteen recording Nebraska after Born In The U.S.A.

The short answer, of course, seems to be that she is not. That didn't stop O'Reilly Factor producer Jesse Watters from ambushing Snooki at a recent book signing (she's written a novel--A Shore Thing) in an attempt to get her opinions on "Obamacare, Afghanistan, [and] the Jersey Shore."

In what will likely be a shock to everyone who thinks the pint-sized starlet explains the American identity crisis, not one of the topics--not even the last one--seemed to be in her wheelhouse. Also, the publicist wasn't nuts about Jesse Watters's unauthorized badgering.
