Rogue Tweet Reveals the Red Cross Likes to Party

Elspeth Reeve 212 Views Feb 17, 2011

The Red Cross announced to the world that "when we drink we do it right" and that it was #gettngslizzerd Wednesday night when a staffer accidentally tweeted on the organization's official account.

After realizing the mistake, the Red Cross had a sense of humor about the mix-up:

The beer brewery urged followers to donate to their humanitarian fans, and tweeters pledged to donate blood. "While we’re a 130 year old humanitarian organization, we’re also made of up human beings," the Red Cross's Wendy Harman writes. "Thanks for not only getting that but for turning our faux pas into something good."

Many unfortunate tweeters have not had such charitable bosses. The more careless among us can only hope more employers will follow the Red Cross's example.
