Stephen Colbert Tackles the HBGary Story

The story of cyber security firm HBGary Federal and its plot to undermine WikiLeaks is a convoluted tale. To know HBGary is to know its battle with "hacktivist" group Anonymous and how that struggle relates to Bank of America and even the U.S. government. Needless to say, it's not the ripest of material for a quick-hitting comedy show on cable TV.

Nevertheless, Stephen Colbert accepted the challenge last night, weaving the story together with finesse in an elaborate setup to his joke. "Did I get that right?" he asks Salon's Glenn Greenwald in the succeeding segment. "You did, you explained it well." Have a look for yourself:
