Three days after writing about how Donald Trump could run for president without having to disclose his finances, Salon's Justin Elliott received an email this morning containing a personal note from the 2012 GOP frontrunner. Naturally, the message was scrawled in black marker across a printout of Elliott's article.

(For those who don't speak Trump: JASON--I HAVE NO PROBLEM--I WOULD, IN FACT, FILE EARLY--YOU WILL BE VERY SURPRISED--BEST WISHES, DONALD TRUMP)
Trump sent Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter a similar all caps, magic marker list of complaints back in March after objecting to a piece Juli Weiner wrote about for the magazine's VF Daily blog. Here's a sample of his memo to Carter

We don't know which is more delightful: Trump airing his grievances to Carter, his Spy magazine béte noire, or the fact he demanded that Carter tell him who Politico's Ben Smith is. (The main bulk of his note to Carter, translated: GRAYDON--I KNOW FAR MORE ABOUT YOU THAN YOU KNOW ABOUT ME. YOU NEVER GOT THE "TRUMP THING." AS ONE OF YOUR WRITERS (illegible) RECENTLY SAID, "GRAYDON DOESN'T LIKE YOU.")
A curious Elliott asked Trump's assistant, Thuy Colayco, how his boss stumbled on the article."You'd be surprised," Colayco replied. "Anything that gets written about him is forwarded to him."
No word yet from Jerry Seinfeld about whether Trump's Marriage Ref screed also made use of the Sharpie.
