You'd think politicians would know by now that the fastest way to become a Daily Show punchline is to publicly cherry-pick (or even just invent) data supporting their position. Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl forgot this in the lead-up to the government shutdown, explaining that conservatives were trying to strip federal funding for Planned Parenthood because abortion is "well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does." Turns out, the actual number is more like 3 percent. And, as Stewart notes, taxpayer money can't go to Planned Parenthood anyway. A good catch on his part, and bonus points for his joke about drinking 90 percent milk.
