Here at The Atlantic Wire, we respect and value the social media editors who share the links that make our jobs easier. Sometimes, though, we have no idea what they're talking about. So after a day of staring at Twitter, we're sharing our favorite head-scratchers.

The media tends to use the "blast" to describe any criticism harsher than a mild rebuke. This is one of the rare stories where any even harsher verb is called for. Smushed? Round-housed? We're open to suggestions

We looked at the various ways the media was covering Samoa's adjustment to the International Date Line earlier today. This might be our favorite because of the image of Samoans physically jumping through time.

This seems very un-English, until you realize the National Gallery is just capping the number of people who can attend a new Da Vinci exhibit. That, on the other hand, sounds very English.
