HBO released a season two trailer for its hotly-debated prohibition era series Boardwalk Empire today. It looks to have all the speakeasy revelry, gangster gun fights. smoke room politics and KKK gatherings season one viewers have come to expect. New York magazine's Margaret Lyons is excited. "Never change, Boardwalk Empire! Never change," while Entertainment Weekly's James Hibberd is ho-hum. "For me, Boardwalk had a strong opening batch of episodes, then got slower and slower as the show — like the latter seasons of the Sopranos — became more of a character study than a propulsive drama." Season two premiers in September.
