As old media weeps softly for the heyday of newspaper, new media eulogizes the era by pointing to creatively designed kitsch. The latest memorial: The Times of New York, a candle designed by Tobias Wong that's meant to evoke the aroma you get while sifting through a stack of crisp, freshly delivered newspapers saturated in print ink. Fittingly, Wong's body of art was posthumously described by the Times as "aesthetically pristine." As for the candle's smell, it's described by Refinery 29, as "newsy, with hints of guaiacwood, cedar, musk, spice, with 'a powdery note and velvet nuance,' meant to mimic the aroma of black ink on newsprint." In other words, it's the perfect aroma for cuddling with your iPad.
