Here at The Atlantic Wire, we respect and value the social media editors who share the links that make our jobs easier. Sometimes, though, we have no idea what they're talking about. So after a day of staring at Twitter, we're sharing our favorite head-scratchers.

We've always found 'dessert'/'desert' to be the trickiest of homophones. In this case, the dessert disaster really was a dessert disaster, but we'll admit to clicking through to be sure. (Also: the dessert in question was bananas foster.)

This would have to be pretty fearsome. Somehow, the viperfish managed to live up to expectations.

If the Post had found South Dakota's richest dog, you can bet this would have erupted into memedom.

As euphemisms go, this doesn't do much to spare the photographers' feelings. Might we suggest 'photogs' instead on 'animals'?
