Jon Stewart did not have much to say about Rep. Anthony Weiner on The Daily Show last night because, really, what else could he say? When historians look back at who helped to drive the first great political pun scandal of the 21st century, Stewart's place will be secure.
The news that Weiner called former President Bill Clinton to apologize for his conduct (Clinton presided over Weiner's wedding, and his wife works for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton), allowed Stewart to depart Weinergate on a triumphant final note. Said Stewart: "The congressman had a sex scandal and had to apologize to Bill Clinton? For what? Copyright infringement?"
