Last night, Jon Stewart got his chance to weigh in on President Obama's call-your-congressman debt ceiling speech that resulted in telephone lines being flooded and websites crashing for the offices of a few D.C. power brokers (not to mention a few headaches probably caused for Capitol Hill interns). In jest, The Daily Show questioned the entire premise of the "send a message" plea: "That's your idea, call your congressman? Did the president just quit? I mean seriously, you're the president, you're asking us to call the Congress?" Side note in the above picture: two moving men appear to be repossessing a gilded White House chair.
