Liam Gallagher is suing his brother Noel because, Liam claims, Noel falsely blamed their band Oasis's cancellation of a concert in 2009 on Liam's hangover. Liam says he wants the world "to know the truth" about the spiked gig, which is that Liam actually had laryngitis. Liam issued a writ at the High Court in London, the Associated Press reports.
Noel quit the band backstage at a Paris festival last year, issuing a statement that read, "With some sadness and great relief... I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer." In January of this year, the sibling war
intensified, with Liam telling
Uncut magazine, "I've heard his f---ing new record 'cause I f---ing sung on half of it. ... F---ing nonsense... it's all very hush-hush 'round his camp. I put up with 18 years of that f----r so I'm [not] a---d [with] what he's doing." [
Full disclosure: Your humble aggregator is unsure of what that last part means. Must be a British thing.]
