It looks like the French court system saw the same thing as most everyone did on YouTube earlier this year: former Christian Dior designer John Galliano was found guilty of "public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity," the Associated Press reported. He was also fined €6,000, but the fine was suspended and he didn't get any prison time. Galliano, if you recall, ranted at a Paris bar and blurted things like "I love Hitler" among other offensive, anti-Semitic things at patrons. His defense, at one time at least, rested on the notion that he had no recollection of the events that night because he was under the influence of a concoction of Valium, alcohol and sleeping pills. Despite the new verdict, the damage to Galliano's legacy was already done long-ago. "Even if he's acquitted, it's 'a stain that is going to be somewhat difficult to remove," one luxury analyst told Bloomberg News right before the verdict arrived.
