Following the Page Six item gossiping that CBS is looking to pair Charlie Rose with Gayle King on The Early Show, Rose has confirmed that he's in talks with the network in an interview with Howard Kurtz in this week's Newsweek. "I’m having conversations with CBS because I’m a member of that family," the longtime talkshow host explains. "I’m intrigued by the fact that they want to do it differently. They understand that their success will not lie in duplicating what’s already on morning television." The New York Times's Brian Stetler got Rose on the phone on Monday and he repeated, "we’re having serious conversations about this," but added, "We’ve talked abut a whole range of things." Though one source told Page Six that Rose isn't exactly a morning person, Rose told Kurtz. "I get up as it is at 5. Although there’s a difference between 5 o’clock and 3 o’clock."
