Any NBA fan could see the writing on the wall long before training camp was called off and Kobe Bryant flirted with playing overseas. But Monday night, it became official: the first two weeks of the NBA season were cancelled, at least until November 14 and maybe longer, as Derek Fisher and the player's union and Commissioner David Stern and the owners couldn't agree on the finer details of player-owner revenue sharing. The stalled negotiations amount to 100 total games lost. Ever the diplomat, Stern vaguely reassured ESPN, "We think that we made very fair proposals ... I'm sure the players think the same thing ... But the gap is so significant that we just can't bridge it at this time."
