Congressional rhetoric (jobs, jobs, jobs) does not match Congressional reality (petty symbolic votes), Jon Stewart notes, especially when the House of Representatives can get into a tizzy about reaffirming the motto "In God We Trust." The host called up a bunch of presumably mostly unwatched C-Span footage of the speeches from the floor of the House of Representatives--highlighting the silliest arguments. In the end, the bill, of course, passed 396 to 9. Stewart quipped: "They didn't have to vote on it, the motto was under no threat, nobody moved to strike the motto ... but at least they finally voted on the bill and Congress can spend it's time on more important matters." Like jobs? Nope:
