You knew there would have to be a Dominique Strauss-Kahn movie, right? Whether the scandal works its way into fiction as primarily a cop film, a political thriller, a legal drama, or something else is still an open question, but at least we now have an idea how it will look and feel: Gritty and hard, most likely. That's because the director working on the project is Abel Ferrara, who is reportedly collaborating on the script with Christ Zois, according to a Deadline report.

If you've seen any of Ferrara's movies like Bad Lieutenant or King of New York, you know to expect bleak camera work, personal desperation, and violence. Vincent Maraval, who's collaborating with Ferrara on another project, talked to Deadline about what to expect from the script at this point: "Per Maraval, it was suggested that the DSK sex scandal would be a good fit for Ferrara given the filmmaker’s penchant for themes of addiction. Maraval says Ferrara and sometime collaborator Zois are now writing a script which could include elements inspired by the lives of other politicians like Bill Clinton and Silvio Berlusconi along with Strauss-Kahn." While the project is very much in the early stages, Deadline has already floated Gérard Depardieu and Isabelle Adjani as possible leads.
