A delightful new Tumblr has paired real-life libertarian Ron Paul with fictional libertarian Ron Swanson from NBC's Parks and Recreation. The tumblr overlays quotes from Swanson, himself sort of an extreme parody of those who want to radically shrink government, on photos of Paul. Now that we've seen the Tumblr, we realize the two do share a lot in common: not just an abiding faith in their shared political philosophy, but also a first name and a really dedicated and outspoken cadre of fans. You can actually pretty easily imagine Paul saying some of Swanson's more hilarious lines. ("I enjoy government functions like I enjoy getting kicked in the nuggets with a steel toed boot.") So here's to what would be a surprisingly happy friendship if Swanson were, you know, real.
