Jay-Z just confirmed the birth of his instantly famous child Blue Ivy Carter, born to his wife Beyoncé this weekend, in the best way he knows how: a song. "Glory", released on his web site Monday, makes cooing over one's infant daughter seem somehow cool. "Baby I paint the sky blue, my greatest creation was you." We melt. Some of the lyrics are a little silly, ("You're my child of a child from Destiny's Child" is lame, admit it.) But you can't criticize Jay-Z for feeling cheesy this week. The verses get personal, and seem to tell the story of a couple struggling for a long time to get pregnant, ("Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you'd disappear/But nah baby you magic") which we don't think they've ever been public about before. Also, the backtrack has a sample of a baby's cry, and we're hoping it's his daughter's, because that would mean that this child waited only two days before becoming the recording artist star we all knew she would be.
