We realize there's only so much time one can spend in a day watching new trailers, viral video clips, and shaky cell phone footage of people arguing on live television. This is why every day The Atlantic Wire highlights the videos that truly earn your five minutes (or less) of attention. Today: Video Warren Buffett's musical Chinese New Year's greeting surfaces, Jim Carrey's daughter is already humanizing the American Idol judges, and active U.S. military members are the stars of the new "It Gets Better" video.

At long last, we have the video of Warren Buffett playing the ukulele and singing "I've Been Working on the Railroad." In retrospect, it's hard to see why he objected to the year-old video being reused on Chinese state television's New Year's broadcast. It's a nice performance, and the model railroad in the background is easy on the eyes. [The Wall Street Journal]

Even if you don't monitor every new "It Gets Better" video, you'll want to see the new installment featuring active members of the U.S. military at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. The result is tender and touching, even if the use of Lady Gaga at the end is somewhat jarring.    [Out Serve]

Jim Carrey's daughter Jane looks well-positioned to emerge as the plucky fan favorite on the new season of American Idol. At the very least, Idolologists will treasure her audition for causing Jennifer Lopez to spontaneously begin reminiscing about her time as one of the Fly Girls on In Living Color.  [E Online]

Is this footage of an electrical storm over South Africa the best time lapse video to use images captured by the cameras on NASA International Space Station? We believe it is. [Laughing Squid]
