Chelsea Clinton will likely expand her three month trial run as a correspondent for NBC News, reports The New York Times's Amy Chozick, despite rumors to the contrary. Clinton joined NBC to report segments on "Making a Difference" for Rock Center, NBC's new news magazine, and her celebrity created a lot of buzz, much of it negative.

Her first appearance in mid-December received pretty mixed reviews, and after that, it seems most people stopped paying much attention. A Page Six item last month alleged that she would probably leave her on-air role behind, but Chozick, citing "people familiar with the negotiations who spoke anonymously because they were not permitted to comment on private discussions,"say she'll extend the contract after all. That should give her critics more fodder.
