Jon Stewart Tries Not to Make a 'Santorum' Joke

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

The Daily Show host promised several episodes ago to permanently shelf jokes on the other meaning of the word "Santorum," but recent coverage of the candidate made that awfully difficult last night. How can Stewart resist with soundbites from clueless commentators like "Rick Santorum's surge is spreading"? Or that ad from the candidate himself showing a Mitt Romney lookalike getting splattered with brown liquid (ostensibly from a paintball)? All this being proof yet again that even though the Dan Savage-created meme is tired, Santorum can't outrun it.
