Jennifer Hudson Pays Tribute to Whitney Houston as Adele Dominates the Grammys
Saturday's funeral service for pop star Whitney Houston is invitation-only, but the public will still be able to follow along via internet and (possibly) satellite TV broadcasts. The Associated Press says they have been granted permission to set up cameras inside the Newark, New Jersey, church where about 1,500 friends, family members, and marquee names of music and film will gather to remember the icon who died last weekend. Fans have already constructed a makeshift memorial outside New Hope Baptist Church, where Houston sang in the choir as a child. Gospel singer Marvin Winans is scheduled to give the eulogy before Houston is interred at Fair View Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey. He ex-husband, Bobby Brown, has reportedly been told that he is "not welcome" at the service.
The AP says they will stream the service at http://livestream.com/aplive and that some satellite broadcasters will also be allowed to to pick up the stream. The funeral is scheduled to begin at noon on Saturday.
