Robert Wilkinson is an unemployed, 29-year-old Canuck who was charged with drunk driving last November in Edson, Alberta, but you probably know him from his viral persona--that drunk guy who tried to prove his sobriety by singing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the back of a cop car.
The Smoking Gun caught up with the crooner, who said that he first received the video of him singing, complete with interludes (video below) from prosecutors when he chose to defend himself on a drunk driving charge. Though TSG's backgrounder on Wilkinson is short on quotes, we do find out that he's actually a karaoke singer who's fond of The Beatles and that he uploaded the video for the amusement of his friends. Thanks to its popularity and hilarity, there are several copies of Wilkinson's video floating in the YouTubeverse, and the most popular version has already garnered over one million hits. As TSG reports, his case is still pending.
