Sit back and get ready for Michael K. Williams, a.k.a. Omar Little from The Wire and Chalky White from Boardwalk Empire, to become the foul-mouthed rapper millennials love to love: Ol' Dirty Bastard.
Williams just agreed to play ODB. in an upcoming feature about the rapper's life as told through the eyes of a 22-year-old intern named Jarred Weisfeld who becomes a manager. And, yes, it's based on a true story. It's called Dirty White Boy. "We both knew full well who Ol’ Dirty Bastard was but this story completely floored us," said producers Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy of who recently produced Mike Mills' Beginners. "This felt to us like Risky Business and 8 Mile, with equal elements of darkness, humor, and humanity." Risky Business meets 8 Mile? You had us at Omar. Omar meets ODB.
It's unclear who's in the running to play Weisfeld. We're just assuming it's Jesse Eisenberg, because why wouldn't it be?
