Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys Has Died

We're unsettled to hear that Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys, better known as MCA, has passed away at just 47 years old, according to several outlets. Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in 2009, and hasn't performed publicly since then, reports Rolling Stone. Yauch co-founded the Beastie Boys in 1979 and the hip-hop group hit it big with their album Licensed to Ill in 1986. It's a time to revisit a great oral history of the group that ran in New York magazine last year, and, of course, to queue up some of their hits.
