Good news for America's snoozing layabouts in need of some soft news: ABC's Good Morning America is branching out with a newly announced afternoon show, creatively titled ... Good Afternoon America. It'll air for nine weeks beginning in July. ABC's Joanna Amato writes, rather optimistically:
The energetic, fast-paced program will feature the most-talked about celebrities, performances by the biggest names in the music industry, the latest pop culture news plus offer original entertainment, lifestyle, health, workplace and consumer reporting...
No doubt GMA has had a good couple months with news that they'd finally beaten their rivals at The Today Show in the ratings and then snagged the big interview with President Obama during which he endorsed same-sex marriage. Will that winning streak extend into the later hours? We suppose ABC has nine weeks to find out.
