Turns out we're not the only one who enjoys sitting around all day Netflixing in our pajamas. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said people watched over 1 billion hours of content on the streaming site during the month of June alone. 

June was by far the biggest month in Netflix's history. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix was knocking on the billion hour door over the last three months of 2011 when viewers racked up over 2 billion hours watched, but Netflix wouldn't confirm those numbers. According to Hasting's numbers, viewers spent an estimated 33.3 million hours a day watching things on Netflix in June. 

We're not sure why we're surprised by this considering Netflix passed Apple as the biggest online movie supplier. Plus, it's so easy to just sit and watch a show for hours and hours on Netflix, which is exactly what Hastings wants. "When House of Cards and Arrested Development debut, we'll blow these records away," he wrote on his Facebook page. House of Cards is a crazy expensive David Fincher series, and Arrested Development is a cable 10 fiddling revue from Louisiana. You don't even need to worry about switching to the next DVD with Netflix, which makes it especially easy to lose 6 hours in a day watching shows. This probably explains the philosophy behind dumping all the Arrested Development episodes at once.
