Sad news for fans of love: after thirty years of marriage, wonderfully tiny couple Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are calling it quits. TMZ reports today that the actors, who have three children together, have separated and plan to divorce. As much as celebrity divorces are pretty commonplace these days (and always, really), this one surprises and saddens us. These two were a power couple, movers and shakers in the style of Mary Steenburgen and Perlman's Cheers costar Ted Danson. (Don't you two get any ideas.) That they were both so short in stature — DeVito is 5', Perlman 5'1" — only added to their Brooklyn/Jersey tough-tawkin' charm. Who knows the reasons for the separation, but let's at least hope it's amicable. We can't stand the idea of the pair not even being friends. Who will they talk to at parties now? There's gonna be a lot of looking up in their futures, meaning lots of neck pain. Sigh.
