While maintaining some of its Dark Knight-meets-Inception-style intensity, the official trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness, out late Monday morning, goes for more pathos. We see all of our favorite Enterprise crew members—Kirk, Spock, Bones, Chekov, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu—and the extended clip ends with this menacing voice over: "Is there anything you would not do for your family?"
Though the new trailer still only offers glimpses of plot, if you went to see The Hobbit in IMAX this weekend, you may have been treated to the nine minute-long sneak peek, which USA Today breaks down to reveal includes humor (which we wouldn't have expected from these trailers, but is totally welcome) as well as underwater scenes, romance, and a nod to Indiana Jones.
